Haze is a browser extension that helps optimize your videos before uploading to TikTok. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

Information We Collect

1. Local Data Only

All video processing happens locally on your device. Your video files are never sent to our servers.

2. Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to authenticate via Discord:

• We store your Discord user ID and username
• We track your credit/quota usage
• This data is stored only for account management purposes

3. Extension Settings

We store your preference settings locally in your browser:

• Selected optimization method (Lite vs Full)
• Theme preferences
• Feature toggles

4. Browser Permissions Explained

What We DON'T Do

• We do NOT collect your browsing history
• We do NOT send your videos to external servers (all processing is local)
• We do NOT sell your data to third parties
• We do NOT track which videos you upload to TikTok
• We do NOT access your TikTok account credentials

Data Storage

• All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
• If you use Discord authentication, minimal account data is stored locally
• You can delete all extension data at any time by:
  1. Going to Chrome Settings → Extensions
  2. Finding "Haze - Video Quality Optimizer"
  3. Clicking "Remove" or clearing site data

Third-Party Services

• Discord Authentication: We use Discord OAuth for optional account authentication. Discord's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service.
• Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts for the extension UI. Fonts are cached locally after first load.

Data Security

• All local data is protected by Chrome's built-in security measures
• We use industry-standard Content Security Policy to prevent code injection
• No sensitive data is transmitted in plaintext

Children's Privacy

This service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the extension or our Discord server.
